Happy was three months old when she was abandoned on the road by her owner. She tried to fend for herself and ate the wrong things in hunger. When we found her, she was suffering from acute haemorrhagic gastroenteritis. It took her some days at the hospital and some at the foster home to get better and gain strength. As she didn't know how to live on the streets and as she is one of the most human friendly pups we have ever known, we thought it would be easy to find a home for her. That any prospective adopter who meets her will fall in love with her. But we were wrong. After many many many adoption posts and messages and personal requests, there was not one single lead for her. Now she is one year old and with time her prospect of getting a home here has reduced to almost zero.
So we are trying to send her to another part of the world where it will be possible for her to find a home. Without a home, she will end up in shelters which is no place for a healthy young dog like her. When healthy dogs live in shelters permanently, they take up space that could have been used by a sick or injured dogs. Delhi the Street Dog Foundation, based in Seattle, USA has agreed to accept Happy as one of their rescues and find her a loving forever home. We are trying to arrange for her safe transfer to the US for which we are raising 95,000 Indian Rupees. Please help us send Happy home! Thank you.
