With the ongoing struggle of being forced to return to his native without having any source of income left, driver Pitambar and his family were hit by another tragedy last month when his house fell apart due to a violent storm which hit many areas of India. They somehow escaped death but now they have nowhere to live..His parents are taking a refuge in the neighborhood for now but it's uncertain till when they will be able to..Whereas Pitamber and his pregnant wife have made a temporary shade with plastic(as can be seen in the pictures)
He is asking for some support and help to build a mud house with wooden roof again for his family as the temporary shade can fall anytime and the coming winters will be intolerable if they don't have a house to live.
Pitambar was working as a driver and was paid 12000 per month in Raipur city. He was not paid his salary for a couple of months since the Pandemic broke and was forced to return to his native village in Orissa. He supports his mother, father, wife and brother. He is also a father to be, his wife is 6 months pregnant.
For all these months of pandemic and his life without any employment, I took responsibility that his family does not go to bed hungry. My decision to do so came about by knowing him and his family for 8 years(he is our family's ex-driver) and knowing that they have no other income source left now.
