‘To what extent are disabled adults empowered to determine their own needs and choose their own support services?
The reality is persons with disabilities are more likely to live in poverty. They face many obstacles, including stigma, invisibility, and abuse. They have a harder time in school and a tougher time finding jobs. They are denied their rights to vote, move freely, enjoy social protection, access justice, and choose medical treatment. Women with disabilities face particular challenges and need to be empowered.
We all know this situation needs to change — for persons with disabilities and for our world. When we empower persons with disabilities, we strengthen human solidarity for everyone.
Sarthak Educational Trust is working to create an enabling environment for social inclusion of the PwDs in all fields of life by providing equal opportunities, equity & social justice and ensuring confidence-building in the PwDs so that, they can realize their aspirations.
Through our 23 centers across India, trained and placed more than 34,300 and 23,450 PwDs & rehabilitated 2670 and 500 children with disabilities respectively.
