Muladhara Foundation ~ Through Arts, life expresses its exuberance
 
Cause:
 
The performing arts in our country continues to face uncertainty and ambiguity in matters of resources and finances. Muladhara Foundation is a not for profit organization that makes implementation and practices of projects in the field of Performing Arts. Muladhara foundation was established with an aim to support and up-bring performing arts culture in our country. Our foundation was established by S Venkat N Murthy & S Gopala Murthy, being in love with performing arts their vision is to get performing arts in our country to a new level where any individual who wants to get into any creative field of Performing Arts can have access to cultural spaces to start their creative journey. Muladhara foundation caters Kalagrah- House of Performing Arts an independent cultural space in Bangalore. Our foundation endeavors to promote opportunities for creativity, performances and both artistic and intellectual understanding through the study and practice of performing arts. We have a vision that anyone who has love for performing arts can fulfill their dream and get in touch with their creativity.
 
Utilization of Funds:
 
The funds will be utilized for the following initiatives of Muladhara Foundation :
 
1. Kalagrah - House Of Performing Arts
 
Kalagrah was founded with deep-rooted motive to spread the arts and give upcoming and creative professionals a space & stage to showcase their creative potential. Kalagrah, being a not for profit creative cultural space under Muladhara foundation opens its gates to creative professionals, passionate individuals  with a affordable and an atmosphere that makes the required creative comfort. The funds will be utilized for the maintenance of this space & construction of a brand new 120 seater fully equipped auditorium named Sutra. More details at our website - www.kalagrah.in

2. Kaladhara - Eternal Flow Of Arts
 
Passing on the knowledge is one of the most crucial parts on carrying forward a craft, and we at Muladhara are committed to support and pass in depth knowledge of arts to coming generations. India is a country where creative education is not easily accessible to all but rather only to a few privileged ones. We pass the knowledge of arts to all equally, no matter when one can afford it  or not at all, Muladhara foundation under Kaladhara runs many free workshops, courses and programs across the country for all those who are talented but not privileged financially, Kaladhara also runs in many govt. schools across Karnataka.

3. Sutra ~ Unleashing the performer within.
 
Sutra is a 9 Day extensive residential course in the creative comfort to explore and elaborate on performers mind, body & soul. Designed and directed by S Venkat N Murthy who has stepped into passing on the knowledge. 8 years ago covering major cities he has held more than 250 workshops and programs touching more than 3000 students, and designed a program named sutra, his dream project to pass on impeccable knowledge to performers to transform in all aspects of performance.
 
Sutra is conducted once in every month with selected 12 students who gather in Bengaluru and spend 9 intensive days to unleash the true potential of performer within self. Few topic covered in the program are Understanding Psychology, getting Into controlled psychosis, movement, Expressions, Understanding Self and much more. Your funds will be utilized to support under privileged students to attend this residential program.
 
4. Natya Mitra - a hand to artists
 
A friend in need is a friend in deed, performing arts in our country has not yet become self sustained, many theatre, dance & music practitioners run back and forth with there full time jobs and also there passion for arts. Muladhara Foundation wants to stand for people who are full time committed to arts but might not be able to fulfill their daily needs, we stand with them not as someone who helps rather as a friend as a mitra who will be there with them in ups and downs.
 
Natya Mitra initiative will provide a monthly grant of INR 12,000 to artists who are full time committed to performing arts and are residence of India. Muladhara Foundations calls for nominations every year online as well as offline at all major cultural and performing arts centers across India.
