ಇವತ್ತಿನ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಿ ನಿಂತು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುವ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಪರೋಕ್ಷವಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪೀಡಿತ, ನೊಂದ, ಜನರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಅಭಿಯಾನ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ

ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ  ಈ ಅಭಿಯಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಕೈ ಜೋಡಿಸ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ವಿನಂತಿ

Dear Ones

I am writing this distress letter on behalf of SUMADHWA SEVA PRATISHTHANA (An Registered Social Welfare Trust), calling for your help in these tough times when their city has been hit by fierce floods.

In these difficult times, I am calling out to all the people who can help us with relief work fundraising by donating whatever little they can.

For This We Have Already Zeroed In The Locations And Have Started Whatever Little Work We Could In Our Limited Available Budget. While The Government Is Doing Its Bit, It Is Our, Common Citizen's Responsibility To Help The Authorities In Saving Precious Lives And Contain Further Loss And Despair.

On Wednesday 07-08-2019, 2,95,890 cusecs of water was released from the Rajapur barrage, 50,677 cusecs from the Dudhganga and the Vedhganga barrages, 3,46,567 cusecs from the Kallol barrage, 27,000 cusecs from the Markandeya barrage, 21,000 cusecs from Ballari Nala, 38000 cusecs from Hiranyakeshi and 86,000 cusecs from the Hidkal Dam.
“Totally, 5,18,567 cusecs of water was released on Wednesday 07-08-2019 alone. Almost all of Belagavi district is flooded. The last time we witnessed such floods was in 2005. But that time the city areas were not affected as much as the villages closer to the Krishna river and its tributaries,” an official with the Flood Forecast Monitoring Centre said.
According to the Central Water Commission, 25,151 residents were evacuated to 53 relief camps set up in north Karnataka’s Belagavi, Uttara Kannada, Bagalakote and Raichur. Officials say that Uttara Kannada and Belagavi are the worst hit, while rainfall in the remaining districts in the northern part of the state had mellowed down by Wednesday morning.
