Poor people are currently fighting a different fight altogether. This section of society is more scared of dying of hunger than COVID-19. Even with the government. benefits put into action, there are many who don't fall under any of the schemes. A large section of daily wage earners are unregistered and hence not liable to receive these benefits. There are those who are stranded in Mathura due to shutdown of public transport and are living on streets and stations adding to those who already call streets their home. There are also 100’s of migrant workers crossing the Mathura Vrindavan Expressway and NH2 highway everyday. They have no money or place to get food or water from and their only hope is either the government or you and me.
 
The Global Shapers Mathura Hub in collaboration with various other govt. and non govt. organisations in Mathura (Roti Bank Mathura, Nirmala Initiative, Ujjawal Trust, Rotary West, Kalpvriksh & others) are making sure that these people get basic life supplies on time. We have the required government permissions, vendors and volunteers to take care of the logistics. After having used and exhausted our personal funds, we are now crowdfunding 10,00,000 to sustain 3000 families and a total of 4000 people in Mathura – Vrindavan for at least 7 days. .

The money will be used to distribute kits including essentials like Rice, Wheat Flour, Dal, Cooking Oil, Sugar, Salt, Tea, Spices & Vegetables costing approx Rs. 1000 per family.

We are able to put together 3 kits for a cost of 1000 Rs. Each kit that we've made is sufficing a family of 4 for around a week. 2 meals a day. Bare survival.
