OXYGEN FOR ALL - A FUNDRAISING CALL FOR OXYGEN CONCENTRATORS

India stands amidst the storm of the second potent wave of Covid-19 cases hitting us across the country. With national cases averaging over three hundred thousand (over 3 lakhs), and about 3000 deaths a day - India’s health system is on the verge of a complete collapse.

Countless lives are being lost over the lack of oxygen, the demand for which is ever increasing. Oxygen concentrators ( a medical device that concentrates oxygen from ambient air) are critical to treating patients suffering from mild to moderate effects of Covid-19. Early administration of oxygen significantly improves the condition of the patient leading to faster recovery and thereby, reducing the need for hospitalization.

India United is a volunteer group of entrepreneurs, activists and working professionals hailing from leading institutions- ISB (Indian School of Business), NITK (National Institute of Technology, Surathkal) LSE-UK (London School of Economics), MICA (Mudra Institute of Communications) and LSR (Lady Shri Ram College) - who like many of you- are keen on helping avert this national crisis to our best ability. We have collaborated with Swasti to procure, deliver and distribute oxygen concentrators in areas that need them most. These concentrators will be distributed to verified nonprofits and government institutions working at the grassroots level to help multiple people in their time of need.

We are looking to raise Rs. 1 Crore, to procure and deploy these concentrators in the most densely populated areas where medical infrastructure is the most under stress.  Each concentrator costs between INR 65,000 - 70,000. Meeting our target will help us procure that 150 concentrators.

This is a 100% not-for-profit and charitable initiative, with proceeds going exclusively for the equipment-
