With a vast population spread across its length and breadth, where many are adversely affected by the immediate and long-term consequences of the disproportionate distribution of resources, one of the biggest challenges India as a nation has been fighting since its independence is to achieve social and economic equality. To this end, along with active efforts by the government, non-governmental organizations have also stepped in to make holistic interventions over the last few years, initiating targeted action across arenas requiring attention to foster social change. However, more often than not, these non-governmental organizations are overshadowed by socioeconomic vulnerabilities that deny them ample access to financial resources to carry out their efforts in the best possible way.
This was the context behind the birth of Super 7 in November 2023 — an ardent hope to help NGOs in India by broadening their outreach efforts, and extending their local boundaries to global networks. At the heart of it, the primary goal of this social initiative is to help Indian Non-Governmental Organizations develop and execute effective strategies to find better collaborations and sponsorships that can strengthen their interventions, thereby gaining ample support to achieve their goals whilst also expanding their scope and impact. To this end, we’ve already made our initial steps by curating the Super Skills handbook — a guide on effective tips, tricks, and techniques to initiate global fundraising and collaboration — and through an online fundraiser raising Rs. 50,000 INR to support the efforts of the NGO Prajna Foundation.
This second fundraiser comes as the next step in Super 7’s aim to foster a better tomorrow by helping the NGOs in our network, the Super 7 Action Network, which currently includes Sukhad, Hamari Pahchan, HAQ Centre for Child Rights (HAQCRC), and Shades of Happiness. Here, the central goal is to build a global community of care that promotes the ethics of sharing and philanthropy.
