Late B. N. Saoji Academy is an esteem organization working in the field of Education. Our’s Oral Aural Karnabadhir Vidyalaya is working for the Education of Hearing Impaired students since 1996. In this school Oral Aural Method is used for teaching. We impart education to the Hearing Impaired students in Marathi as well as in English medium.To ensure that every deaf child is given a fighting chance to develop his/her residual hearing faculties to their fullest maximum potential. And furthermore, in doing so, she/he is able to converse and communicate fluently in the language of their choosing without any inhibitions fear or apprehension.The subsequent and final “mainstreaming” or integration of these children into normal schools is our ultimate goal.
OUR PURPOSE
To see deaf children overcome their hearing impairment as early as possible by using oral language and communication to participate equally in our hearing and talking world.No child should be abandoned or ignored for lack of hearing. Instead, deaf children should have adequate opportunity to grow into bright and confident youngsters.At Oral Aural, we give free education to all children with Hearing Impairment. At present, Oral Aural has 40 students from age 1 ½ to onwards 13-14 years.We provide a special language-oriented environment for the children from 1 ½   years with qualified teachers and well-equipped classrooms.• Empowering diverse families to accomplish acceptance of impairment, wellness and education.
• Giving them a platform to vent out their feelings.
• Taking case history in detail which will further helpful in child’s evaluation.
 • Developing a confidential and comfortable set up for parents to achieve healthy family atmosphere.
• Timely guidance for the mother for every aspect of child’s development.
• Involving the entire family in child’s education through Annual Day Function Father’s Day, Grand Parent’s Day and Siblings Day.
Audiometry
Audiometry is the science of measuring hearing acuity for variations in sound intensity and pitch involving thresholds and differing frequencies. At Oral Aural we do measure unaided and aided responses of the child. Speech discrimination is also measured. Impedance is also done to evaluate middle ear function.
Language & Speech Training
The aim of Oral Aural is for each child to be trained in language and ORAL SPEECH. This allows them to be integrated into schools for ‘normal hearing children’ and set them on the road to be independent in our hearing world.Oral Aural Karnabadhir Vidyalaya is a primary school upto Std. VII. No sooner the children come upto this stage they have to move on. Every year we have a handful of children being integrated or mainstreamed into normal schools. Over the past years nearly 90 children have passed through our portals. They have overcome their handicap successfully and become useful members of society.
Nothing encourages us more than hearing the success stories of our children. Oral Aural does not collect any fees, not a single paisa from the parents of children with hearing impairement. We need financial support each year to educate our deaf children. Oral Aural does not received any grant or any funds from Government or any therefore has to rely on the financial support and generosity of private individuals, institutional and corporate donors such as you.
