Dear Donor,
In these times of an unprecedented crisis, all of us are committed to helping in whatever way we can. The NUJS Alumni Association is raising funds to help the country fight the virus and to equip and aid our frontline warriors in this pandemic. We are raising funds for various credible organizations working on the frontline as well as for supporting those in dire need of assistance in this time of the pandemic.

The second and final phase of the fundraiser will raise funds for IDIA's response to the second wave of Covid-19.
IDIA (https://www.idialaw.org/) is an initiative founded by Late Prof. Shamnad Basheer to increase diversity in the legal profession, by enabling underprivileged students to access premier law schools.
IDIA's Covid-19 response includes:
a) Establishing centers that will allow isolation to those with symptoms before hospitalization.
b) The centers will be rural-focused with the first one in a village called Murokhali in West Bengal.
c) The centers will have medicines, food, and other basic facilities.
d) Setting up boat ambulances that can be used in cases of emergency, and other relief efforts.
Previously, the funds collected in this fundraiser have been sent to the following organisations:
(i) Doctors for You (http://doctorsforyou.org/) which is working along with existing hospital infrastructure in select cities to provide oxygen support to patients and PPE kits to doctors and other frontline workers. The organisation is at the forefront of Fight against Covid-19 and runs community hospitals across the country where free medical aid is provided to the underprivileged. By involving young nursing staff and specialized OPD from Endocrinologist, MD Medicine, Dermatologist, and Pediatric consultation, DFY is presently operating & managing more than 2500 beds in 5 centers in Delhi, 4 Centres in Bangalore, 3 Centres in Mumbai, and centers in Bihar, U.P., and Andhra Pradesh. Under the ‘Protect the Protectors’ Program, DFY is providing PPE Kits, Masks, Face Shields, Gloves, and Covid-19 special training to 100+ hospitals across India; and
(ii) Meghdutam, (https://www.meghdutamfoundation.org/) which is working with the marginalized sections of society in semi-urban and rural areas in the Sunderbans to provide basic medication and immunity boosters to people to stem the spread of the virus, because recovery after contracting the infection is well near impossible in such places.
We look forward to your support!
