I've known Nithya's family for more than a decade. They are lovely people. She has two daughters and a grandchild. Nithya works as a cook and her husband, Ram, works as a driver.

On December 22nd, she started to feel violently ill, throwing up continuously. She was admitted to the hospital on December 24th where she was diagnosed with pneumonia of the lungs, severe low blood pressure, and weak organ function.

She was immediately placed in the ICU and is not able to breathe. She is severely dehydrated as she is not able to consume any food or liquids at this point.

The money is needed to pay for her to continue to remain in the ICU until her breathing, blood pressure, and organ function stabilize. In addition, she also requires a tracheotomy to help facilitate her breathing. She will be in the ICU for an extended period of time.
