Starting with my experience:

I live in the biggest residential society of Dehradun, Uttarakhand,  India and since the lock down, I have been in touch with my society's Security Guards if they need any help. Today morning, I called them to ask the same and I got to know that they have not received their April month's salaries yet and I was shocked to hear that as in Societies / Apartments in India, residents pay Maintenance Charges on prepaid basis.

I asked them to let me talk to management and other people of society so they became very sad and told me that "Sir, no one is even bothered to ask if we need any help or if we are getting our salaries or not. We have been doing 12+ hours shift in day and night to ensure the safety of all but no one cares for poor people like us."

I was really sad and immediately transferred 30k INR to one of those person's bank account and asked them to reach out to me if they need more help. They were in shock after seeing my unexpected gesture and thanked me for the same.

PS:

We know that there are thousands of people dealing with same or worst situation and many of them are also risking their lives by working as front line warriors to make sure we are safe by working as Security Guards and Housekeeping staff. Some of those people were also asked to not continue after lock down and they have been sitting idle at home and that is concerning as they have no other source of earning too.

Some domestic helps are not allowed or people are not asking them to return due to safety concern and this is not just the case with my society but entire country.

Thousands of local laborers and people running very small shops like Air Pressure check / Tea stalls / Balloons Sellers / Cobblers and a lot more, need immediate help.

This is the reason, I thought to create this fundraiser campaign here to help all / some of them at least in my city and give them a reason to smile and to believe that humanity is still alive.

This much of amount will be sufficient to give all of them some flexibility to take care of their households expenses and their children's school fees with lesser worries for few days.
