I am Maria Christina Varela and I am here to raise funds for my son Nevaeh Fernandes who is currently 29 years old.
On the 9th of March, my world came to a standstill when I got to know my son was diagnosed with blood cancer with autoimmune disease, severe hepatitis, and a brain abscess.
It all started in the month of December when he first got a high-grade fever followed by a throat infection. Currently, he is being treated at a major private hospital in Goa.
Since then we have spent around 12 lakhs on his treatment, various tests & investigations. We have exhausted all our savings and also had to sell our gold jewelry to manage the last few days.
I am a retired government employee and we are solely dependent on our pension for living. But the cost of treatment is soaring each passing day and we are unable to meet our ends with limited funds from the pension.
I urge you all to help me support you through these unimaginable and unfortunate times. It is heart wrenching to see my young son suffer in pain day and night and I feel helpless.
