Background:
This is to help save our friend/colleague "Naresh Kumar Bonu" Aged 37 who is a resident Hyderabad and to keep his family safe out of Carona Second Wave he travelled to Vizag. His family consists of his wife Saranya, baby boy of 3 years and elder mother. Though Naresh did not move out of his house, unfortunately he has been detected with covid during last week of April and admitted to Shraddha Hospital Vizag for three days. For better treatment he has been moved to KIMS Vizag, Sheelanagar on May 1st with severe lung infection. Health started deteriorating and he is on NIA ventilator. The saturation keeps fluctuating and is at 84 and heart rate is 89 as of May 14. Its been 13 days past and the infection in lungs is not subsiding. His HRCT is reported 17/25(severe) on 1st may. Doctors have recommended to go for ECMO at higher centre and Vizag has shortage of ECMO specialists/machines. Naresh is strong willed and prayers of many is keeping him going. We want to airlift, if needed and take him to Chennai or Mumbai, where better ECMO facilities are available. Running short of funds/resources to do it and its hard to move him out on ambulance from Vizag considering his current situation.
Our Next Plan of Action:
We are planning to move him either to Chennai/Hyderabad/Mumbai based on the amount we collect by speaking to authorities in either of the cities. Looking at current situation, Mumbai has better options for lung related alternate treatments.
