Naresh had a sudden collapse on 25/06/2021 and crumbled to the ground, losing his ability to stand and walk. Naresh was immediately admitted in Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital. After 3 days of undergoing multiple tests such as Nerve conduction studies and continuous observations by the doctors, Naresh has been diagnosed to have Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), which is a rare neurological disorder.
His immune system mistakenly attacks part of its peripheral nervous system, which is the network of nerves located outside of the brain and spinal cord.
Naresh Kumar is still under observation for further complications. Further tests have been halted due to lack of funds.
As there is an impression of ‘enhancement noted in cauda equina nerve roots in the lumbar spinal canal’ and as there is no brain damage as of now, Doctors are proceeding to operate Spinal tap (lumbar puncture) on the spinal cord to take the spinal fluids on 05/07/2021.
My husband and I live with our 2 children in Chennai. My husband, the only earning member in the family, is working in private sector earning a monthly income of INR 11,000. We have managed the hospital funding so far by borrowing from family and friends. In addition to this, the treatment cost may go around INR 5,00,000. Please come forward to support the cause. Any contribution will be of immense help. Do contribute and share this campaign link with your friends and family. Ritish Kumar, Naresh Kumar’s younger brother, is praying for his brother's speedy recovery.
