My name is Priti Narole and I am here to raise funds for my brother Narendra Narole who is 41 years old. Narendra Narole lives in Nagpur, Maharashtra with his children, spouse , sisters and mother. We lost brother in law Advocate Dhananjay Bhujade to Covid on May 1st 2021. Half family members were admitted to hospital and half were home quarantine.
Narendra Narole is suffering from mucormycosis (black fungus) from 1.5 months. he was admitted on April 26th to Star city hospital Nagpur for Covid, then after seeing his half face became numb and jaws , tounge were turning black, we got him discharged from Star city on May 3rd and immediately admitted to Neurons hospital on May 4th after doing MRI and consultation with Dr. Pramod Giri sir. He was there for 42 days, then we tried to move him to AIIMS Nagpur, however they do not have OT equipments to perform risky surgeries and suggested to move to Seven stars hospital and now he is in Seven star under Dr. Kotharkar. Fungus was reaching to his right eye and he started seeing blurry and double vision, Eye specialist  had to administer Amphotericin B injection to his right eye and saved his vision. Three endoscopic surgeries and 4 endo-suction deep debridemental surgeries are performed. June 19th he underwent one more surgery to remove fungus from behind the sinusitis.

Until now, we've spent about Rs. 1500000. Amphotericin B Liposomal each dose cost varies from 6000 rs to 7800 rs and Amphotericin B Emulsion cost varies from 2500 to 4500 rs. Every day 6 doses required costing minimum 25000 to 46500 rs per day only antifungal injection cost. Total 180 such doses required and till now administered 60 doses, 120 are remained.

Similarly antifungal Picasa 10 tablets costs 6000 rs and every day 3 tablets of rs 2000 required, these have been given since day one. How many more days needed not known yet. There were shortages of these key medicines and we had to run piller to post to arrange these to keep fungus at bay and spreading further. Now injections are supplied from Collector office however not regularly and he is started having reaction to Emulsions. Liposomal are not getting regularly which doesn't have side effects and more costly. My intention to write this in detail to justify why we need this whole some amounts. These are only key medicines costs. There are antibiotic, vitamin, and other medicines costs, hospitalization bed cost which are commonly given to any hospitalised patients. Each endoscopy surgery cost from 1 lakh to 2 lakh depends on the area of fungus involvement. Despite having critical care insurance we can't get benefit because Mucormycosis isn't listed as critical disease in policy docs. We've arranged the amount from savings & loans, friends, his colleagues and students donations till now, however they are not sufficient. Everyday we need cash amount of 50000 of injection and tablets.
