About Ava and Mia -
Baby girls Ava and Mia are 5 months old Indian Pariah dogs. They were part of a litter of 5 but even before they turned 2, three of them passed away by coming under cars and being bitten by snakes. We've been taking care of them ever since.

They bring energy into every space they fill. Ava usually falls onto the ground whenever she is in need of her share of belly rubs and well Mia - Mia loves getting all the attention. Both of them fight to be the contender for the Best Girl Award!
Whoever has laid eyes on these beauties has nothing been short of smitten. It's difficult to not let them have a chance at life that they so deserve. We don't want their fate to end up the same way as their siblings - we want to give them a better life.
About Me -
I am a fourth year student and it’s been almost 6 months since I have been working in the animal welfare space. I have worked really hard to make the lives of street dogs in our University a little better each day. It’s not been easy to say the least but we’re getting there one small step at a time. We feed about 30 dogs 2 square meals everyday, get sterilizations and vaccinations done on a daily basis, look after emergency cases and also get our dear ones adopted. We’ve successfully placed 3 (Pebble, Damru, Shifu) of our puppies in loving homes in India whereas 4 (Peach, Frankie, Kanchi, Lily) have flown seven seas (with the help of our amazing international NGO - Yogistreetdogrescue) to be with their families in Vancouver, Canada. One last remaining - Smokey - from this litter is also flying out on the 20th of December.

I’m often asked ‘Why do have to send these dogs overseas’ or ‘Why can’t they be on the street’ - Well, the life of a street animal in India is extremely hard. With no promise of a single full meal a day and no roof over their head, they’ve to scrounge for food in dustbins or dig up deep holes in the winter just to stay warm. If life is too harsh on them, they die even before they turn 1 either by coming under a car or by giving up their life in the hands of a reckless human being.

We can’t save every life as they are 30 million of them here in India - the highest in the world. But, we can definitely touch the lives of the ones around us and that’s what we intend to do.
Ava and Mia finally have that chance to be with their forever family in the US. Their flight is on the 20th of January and unfortunately for us, we have to manage everything on our own and the amount is huge. We are running out of time. Please understand that no contribution is too much or too less - everything will help Ava and Mia. I implore you to consider making a small donation towards their travel. Every contribution will bring us closer to the goal.
We have until 20th of January, 2020 to collect the required funds which will be utilised for -
Transportation to the Airport
Flight Charges
Crate Cost
Microchipping and Blood Tests
Paperwork
Cargo Handling Charges
Custom Clearance
Pet Travel agency charge
