Vinay Vasta, By profession, is a Cardiologist working as a consultant cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon in various hospitals of Mumbai. He has been in this field since 1980. He was the first to undertake open heart surgery on HIV+ patient, Apart from this, his interest and belief in “Service in Humanity” made him get involved in various philanthropic activities, he is also a founder member and executive member of the Indian Health Organization. He was interested in Social Activities Integrations – SAI activities and involved in the work of the organization in organizing camps, guiding the organization in reaching new heights. He has also helped the poor patients who are organizations beneficiaries by providing a reference to undergo operations and treatment in concessional rates. Network with various professionals has helped in getting valued services free of charge towards the betterment of the weaker section of the society. Being from the medical background and his reputation in this field will be a great help towards the proposed project of setting up the hospital for the weaker section of the society.
SAI NGO was established in the year 1992 and registered in the year 1999.
We support sex worker's welfare, their health monitoring and provide medicines. total number of 6700
We provide comprehensive support to AIDS-affected sex workers.
We provide health support, we give medicines, hospitalization expenses whenever needed.
We provide education to their children.
We have 1 mobile clinic manned by 4 persons including one doctor who is full time engaged doing rounds of red light areas checking their health conditions and providing them medicines and condoms.
We have a staff strength of 40.

Health monitoring and providing medicines to 6700 sex workers Rs.2.7 lakhs per month
Cost of running one mobile health clinic which does timely health support for above sex workers 1,25 lakhs per month
Cost of Vihan project where we provide health monitoring and medicine support to around 25000 AIDS patients from general public 2.6 lakhs per month
Staff salary 40 employees 2.8 lakhs per month
We provide monthly ration to around 150 AIDS-affected sex workers and their children 22000 thousand per month.
Providing education to children of AIDS sex workers 80 in number includes expenses for uniform, lunch, every day transporting them from red-light areas and ferrying them back to their homes, providing them health support whenever required, providing them books, teachers salary, etc 1.30 lakhs per month
Apart from above, we support 20 children suffering from cancer who are admitted to Tata cancer research hospital and Wadia hospital. we give amount varying to 60,000 to 75,000 to their parents which will help them in partially meeting their expenses.
