My name is Swapna Barua, and I am writing this with a heavy heart. My son, Nakul Barua, who is just 30 years old, met with a devastating road accident near Shani Mandir, Sector 14, Noida, in the early hours of March 2nd.
Since that moment, our lives have come to a standstill. Nakul was rushed to the hospital in a critical state with "Polytrauma"—meaning his body has suffered severe damage in multiple areas. He was immediately moved to the ICU at Kailash Hospital and placed on mechanical ventilation (life support) as he was unable to breathe on his own.
The Extent of His Injuries:
The doctors have identified several life-threatening injuries that require immediate and expensive surgical intervention:
Chest Trauma: 8 broken ribs and a collapsed lung, requiring a chest tube and upcoming thoracic surgery.
Severe Pelvic & Spinal Fractures: His pelvis is shattered in multiple places (Acetabulum and Pubic Rami), along with fractures in his lower spine (L3-L5).
Shattered Limbs: His left knee is completely "comminuted" (shattered into pieces), requiring complex reconstructive surgery with plates and screws.
Critical Care: He has already undergone multiple blood transfusions and remains in the ICU on high-end antibiotics and respiratory support.
Why We Need Your Help:
Nakul is a young man with his whole life ahead of him. While he is currently "hemodynamically stable," he remains in a critical and "poor prognosis" state. He needs multiple surgeries—Thoracic (Chest) repair and major Orthopedic (Pelvis and Knee) reconstructions - before he can even begin the long road to recovery.
The cost of prolonged ICU stay, life-saving medications, and these complex surgeries is far beyond our family's means. We have exhausted our savings on the initial emergency care, and we are now desperate to ensure he doesn't lose his life or his ability to walk due to a lack of funds.
