Hi, my name is Meera. I recently had an opportunity to spend some time in Araria, a district in Northern Bihar. The Mosamat Budhiya Shiksha Nirman Sangathan (MBSNS) is a registered trust that was born out of a 10-year struggle for economic rights and justice for peasants and workers in rural Bihar. They have committed to building a society whose foundation will be justice and equality through education. The trust is now a capacity for shelter and education for 12 children. Many of them expressed their interests to become engineers, social workers, and doctors. But they were also aware of what their dreams costed. Money shouldn’t be a barrier to equality and empowerment but money, unfortunately, has become a necessity for access. I hope this changes one day but until then, I need you to help me raise Rs. 400000 to aid them in their growth and education. The money you contribute will be used to fund their education, ration and day to the functioning of the center they live in.
So who is this for?
The money you contribute will enable 10 children to pursue their education and live in the MBSNS center in Araria, Bihar. Read more about their stories here
Here is the breakdown of how the money will be spent.
Cost per child in a year
Food = Rs 1500 X 12 = 18000
Tuition fees and supplies = Rs 700 X 12 = 8400
Total cost for 10 children = Rs 26400 X 10 = 264000
Fixed cost for living sustenance per year
1. Caretaker cum cook at the center - Rs 8000 X 12 = 96000
2. Maintenance - Rs 1000 X 12 = 12000
3. Commission + other expenses - Rs 28000
