Dear MMF Supporters,
While our community-led team has been able to realize our dream into reality at the Majuli Music Festival 2022, reaching a scale we had only imagined, we are in deep financial crisis! This deeply special edition brought much needed attention to the rich culture of the beautiful island, but despite deploying all our organizational and personal resources, we are in a deficit of 20 lakhs. It will mean everything to us if you can stand by us in this time of need and contribute towards building the foundation together!
As a gesture of our gratitude, it will be our pleasure to extend a premium pass (all access) to you for the next edition.
Love,
Team MMFF

Majuli Music Festival (MMF) is India's biggest indie music festival, led completely by the rural community at the beautiful pristine island of Majuli in rural Assam. Majuli is the world's largest riverine island on the mighty Brahmaputra. Even though it's known as the fast disappearing island due to the effects of climate change, it also is unique in its geography and cultural heritage. Home to rare flora and fauna; 30 Sattras - the tribal confluences, each having their own set of uniquely crafted traditions; the world famous 'Masks of Majuli' and tribal way of life with incredible cuisines make Majuli a place to die for.

Special focus was placed on representing artists from each of the 8 North-Eastern states with at least 2 performances each day, by local indie artists and bands from Majuli. The lineup this year included Lucky Ali, Bishrut Saikia, Doctor Lincoln, Joi Barua, Lucky Ali, Nilotpal Bora, Salman Elahi and the bands Avora Records, Jutimala and the Tai Folks, Madhouse Mongrels, The Midnight Taxi and The Sleeping Satellite. In addition to musicians, 5 other artist communities exhibiting their creativity at the festival was another big highlight of the experience - weavers, pottery artists, bamboo artists, mask makers and dancers!
