We wish to play an ambulance free of cost in remote areas of Rudra Prayag district of Uttarakhand. I was born and brought up in a small village known as Semalata, Patti Bhardar, District: Rudra Prayag. Having completed my studies upto 8th standard, I had to move to Delhi for higher education and livelihood. After completion of my education, I joined and worked in State Bank of India for 35 years from December 1983 to December 2018.
I have now decided to work for the society through this newly formed institution known as Himalayan Foundation for Reverse Migration. Recently, our company has undertaken a maiden initiative to provide water connections at every house of the aformentioned village to facilitate 15 families having houses thereat including three widows living alone. It will not be out of place to mention that Rudra Prayag district was carved out from three districts namely Tehri, Pauri and Chamoli in 1996 for better administration and development. The area of Jakholi block was carved out from Tehri District as it was farthest from erstwhile district headquarter i.e. Tehri and consequently, it remained backward till date as its development has not picked up even after creation of separate district and state. It was under Theri Parliamentary constituency prior to formation of new district Rudra Prayag, but it has now been brought under Pauri (Garhwal) parliamentary constituency.
This area is still lacking basic facilities like primary health centre, play ground, connecting roads, village knowledge centre, district rural employment centre etc. Owing to non-availability of such facilities there has been mass unemployment and migration during recent past. You would be surprised to know that nothing has been invested in these areas from the funds earmarked to Member of Parliament representing the area. Keeping in view acute requirement of healthcare facilities.
We propose to operate an ambulance for carrying serious patients from hinterland of district Rudra Prayag to nearby hospital at free of cost as we understand that ambulance services provided by the Government through 108 is not serving the people of remote villages in case of emergency. The propose vehicle may also be used for carrying dead body of the person whose family members cannot afford transportation cost for last rites to be taken place at designated Ghat (place for last rites). Having completed techno economic feasibility for operating an ambulance, we understand that Mahindra Bolero or Tata Winger is suitable for hill areas.
We anticipate that there will be monthly operational cost tune the tune of Rs. 25000 to 30000/-, which shall be taken care by our organisation. However, being newly formed company, we are not in a position to invest purchase cost of an ambulance to the tune of is Rs. 8,00,000/- approximately. In view of the above, we request you raise fund to meet the cost of vehicle to the tune of Rs,8,00,000( Rs. Eight lakhs only) to be plied by our institution in the remote areas of district Rudra Prayag.
