Dear compassionate and caring individuals,
I sincerely hope this heartfelt appeal finds you in good health and spirits. My name is Mohammed Afsar, and today I come to you with a heavy heart, seeking your empathy and support for a matter that weighs heavily on my family's life.
On January 14th, 2023, a devastating event unfolded when my beloved brother, Mohammed Appas S, an young Mechanical Engineer who was working in Royal Enfield and Daimler for almost 3 years was struck by an unfortunate accident, Fortunately he was wearing helmet, So by god grace he is alive now however the force of the accident made his brain to lose its shape and internal tissues got damaged heavily and doctors concluded as Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI), It has been 6 and half excruciating months of life support machines, 24x7 medical monitoring, and surgery, depleting our hard-earned savings, amounting to 15 lakhs, in an effort to provide him with the necessary rehabilitation and complication occurred during this phase,
Due to Financial issues we couldn’t continue the treatment in Kauvery and their own rehabilitation centre (Hamsa Rehab in Royapettah, Chennai), so we decided to shift him to SRM medical college and research center where we get both Rehab and General neuro treatment at affordable cost, Its been 4 and half month here and with god’s grace he had improved a bit and could see some eye movements and other responses for oral command, Now the doctors over there and us strongly feel the Rehab is not sufficient which is delaying his recovery and we have taken a decision to shift him to provide better treatment,
We got contact of Dr.Sharan shrinivas (Functional Neurologist) who has included Ayurvedic along with Allopathy to get the fast recovery as Ayurvedic is supporting such patients who is trying to get back to community, If we move him , he will be admitted under his care in Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, Millers road, Bangalore, And when we consulted him for this, He had given us some hope asking us to shift him and asked us to prepared for 6 months at least to get him recovered hopefully.
I was instructed to get in touch with Dr.Sharan shrinivas’s Assistance to know the package details and other charges, As my brother is under tracheostomy procedure, there is High chances of getting infected, which will lead to some other complications, Minimum of semi-private ward is required for him which is costing us Rs.2,53,120 for 4 week/28days, excluding medicines and other charges like (X-ray, CT, MRI)
Now, we stand at a critical juncture where a life-saving decision, with medical care, proper physiotherapy along with 8 other therapies & Trusting on god is our only hope and will cost us a minimum of 20 lakhs for next 6-9 months. Like I mentioned above with the improvement we saw in him with minimal physiotherapy, We have a strong belief that he will get back his conscious completely if we provide him the right set of therapies at required level.
In the face of such overwhelming adversity, I wholeheartedly reach out to you, understanding that your capacity for empathy and compassion is boundless.
