The little girl somehow survived the deadly disease even without treatment, but the virus left its mark on her. She was left with nervous twitches and jaw and cranial deformity that most Distemper survivors have to live with.
Because she was unspayed and lived on the road, she got pregnant when she was around 7 months old and gave birth to three beautiful pups. She didn't have any pack but lived alone and scavenged on the road. 2 of the three pups disappeared when they were around 25 days old. To save the third pup, we sent the puppy to a foster home. She is well and adopted now.
Midnight fought very hard and got through the long and painful recovery period. Her jaw has healed but she can never eat anything hard or chewy. She is a special needs dog and will always need to be on soft or semi-liquid diet. But she does not let her disability deter her from living her life with happiness and love. She is more playful than any puppy I have ever met.
I have fostered her for 1.5 years as it is hard to find fosters or adopters for a special needs dog. But now I am not well for more than a month. I have recently recovered from Covid19 and now have post covid lung fibrosis and other complications. I had to send Midnight to a boarding as I could not take care for her. But most boardings don't take CD survivors as they are worried they remain contagious to other dogs for life. After a lot of searching, I found only one boarding that agreed to take her and cater to her special needs.
I am raising funds for both her medical bills and her boarding bills. Please help me take care of this amazing girl who went through so much injustice and pain but never lost her happy spirit.
Thank you very much.
