At Kavoor First Grade Government College, Mangaluru, a quiet effort blossomed into something deeply meaningful — creating a safe and compassionate space where girl students could finally speak about their unspoken struggles.Through the Pink Box initiative, many young women found the courage to open up — to share their challenges, their needs, and their hopes.

• One student wrote about suffering from menstrual health issues and requested an awareness session, as menstruation remained a taboo topic in her home.
• Another expressed her wish for a free health camp for herself and her mother, who had never consulted a gynecologist.
•  A third suggested keeping a box filled with sanitary napkins on campus to help girls in need.

These heartfelt letters became catalysts for change. 

Moved by their voices, the Women Research Centre (WRC) reached out to Code Crimson to collaborate in providing 300 biodegradable sanitary pads and organizing awareness programs that promote menstrual health and dignity.

Together, WRC and Code Crimson continue to nurture a space where every girl feels heard, supported, and empowered — one voice, one story, and one act of care at a time.
