Aid children in rural West Bengal fight death by accessing safe water

Story

Ever since I heard about the death of my aunt's 4 year old son due to diarrhoea, I had taken it upon myself to prevent this from happening to about 15 million other children residing in the villages of West Bengal.

Not only is access to water scarce but even the minimal amount of tap water provided is often loaded with fluoride, arsenic and other salts. Due to these reasons, villagers often drink river or lake water which causes several diseases like Cholera, Diarrhoea, Hepatitis A and E. These diseases normally affect children below the age of 5 who are unable to fight them and die an untimely death. Every year there are thousands of casualties due to this reason.

We, in association with Water Aid aim to provide clean drinking water and build latrines for these villagers. Children have to walk for miles and miles to access clean water and with each step they take, it is a step astray from their future. Help them out as soon as possible. With 12,000 rupees you can provide dignity to a family of 5 by building them a latrine. With 6000 rupees you can provide safe drinking water to a small school of around hundred by installing a tap. No amount is small. Donate whatever you can and together, lets help these people out.
