    Meera Devi

    from Dhanbad, Jharkhand

I am Rakesh Choudhary of Chemical Engineering, 3rd year , B.I.T. Sindri. My father works as a jute mill worker. My family’s income is dependent on my brother's tuitions. Our land has been sold to meet the money required for her treatment. After a month of moving from hospital to hospital from Kolkata to Vellore, our savings have been exhausted. Due to her conditions, she’s unable to travel via trains so we have been taking her through flight which has been quite costly. So, we require your help with her treatment. She is needed for regular blood transfusion our all the compatible members of our family have given her blood
Her health started deteriorating we were completely perplexed and admitted her to J.P Hospital, Dhanbad on 27 January 2020. They told us that haemoglobin in her blood was 5.0 GM% and 3 unit of blood was transfused. But were unable to find the reason. So, we transferred her to Marwari Relief society Hospital, Kolkata on 10 February 2020.
They also reported the same and transfused 5 unit of blood and 6 units of platelets. Day after day her conditions began to worsen. She was admitted there for 10 days and they still weren’t sure of her problems so we decided to sell our ancestral land and transfer her to CMC, Vellore. We transferred her to Vellore on 20 February 2020.
CMC, Vellore tested her and we got the report on 28 February 2020. They informed us that she has got Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukaemia with Blast Transformation a type of blood cancer. They told us that if we want to continue her treatment there, we had to clear the bill and deposit an advance of 10 lakhs. after clearing her bill all of our saving was spent and we aren’t able to continue her treatment there. We brought her back to Kolkata on 29 February 2020. Hospitals there said that they are unable to treat her.
She is currently at Chandigarh. If an appropriate fund is raised we are deciding to admit her to T.M.H, Mumbai.
