I am raising funds for Ms. Meenakshi, a 27-year-old woman who has been courageously battling Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), a serious chronic autoimmune disease that affects multiple organs including the kidneys, brain, joints, and skin. Over the past year, her condition has worsened significantly, leading to repeated hospitalizations as the disease progressed.
Recently, Meenakshi was also diagnosed with Macrophage Activation Syndrome (MAS), a rare but life-threatening complication of SLE that occurs when the immune system goes into overdrive and puts extreme stress on the body. This condition requires aggressive treatment with high-dose antibiotics, immunosuppressants, and intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg), and is known to be a critical medical emergency with a potentially fatal course without proper care.
Due to the severity of her illness, she is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with ventilator support after experiencing a seizure and a rapidly worsening infection. Her treatment also involves managing persistent hypokalemia (low potassium), which requires ongoing potassium correction and close monitoring.
The estimated cost of her continued treatment is approximately ₹18,00,000 (eighteen lakh rupees), an amount that has placed immense financial strain on her family. Despite their best efforts, they are unable to bear these mounting medical expenses alone and urgently need financial support now.
