Dear patrons,
Mahadev (name changed for privacy and confidentiality reasons) has been struggling with Substance Use Disorder for the past two years. He is only 27 and he has fallen into the grip of addiction, due to which his family has been burdened emotionally, and financially.
He is supported by his aging parents, who are manual laborers and live on their daily wages. Mahadev's sudden bout of Delirium has shaken this family to the core- there was no other way, but to admit him for his addiction, which would have otherwise taken his life.
This family is struggling to make ends meet, and his father Marimuthu has been asking for help, especially to pay the hospital bills, and thereby help Mahadev stay sober.
Mahadev is also married and has a one-year-old baby boy. His wife had to pawn her earrings solely for this admission. Mahadev is doing better, but he needs continued treatment and follow up- he is motivated to stop his habit as well, which will help him immensely. All of his family is trying to help him, but it is just not enough.
The burden of paying the bill falls on the father, Marimuthu. This daily wage worker is ending up having to borrow money from neighbors and acquaintances.
Your help, no matter how small, will also help Mahadev to stay motivated to cut down on his habit.
Hence, requesting you to contribute to this fundraiser, especially for the sake of Mahadev's father, his wife, and his young baby.
(Marimuthu needs these funds URGENTLY since we do not want to keep him at the hospital for too long, thereby piling up his bills.)
