"I am so heartbroken to see my daughter cry. I have never seen her suffer in so much pain before. It hurts me to know I can do absolutely nothing to relieve her from this. I can only pray it ends soon." says Mother Reena

Patient MANSHA DURGESH SHANI  is a 6 year old female child to be operated orthopaedic ward by Dr. Arjun Dhwale (orthopaedic Surgeon) of our hospital. Child is with down’s syndrome altantoaxial instability with Occipitocervical fusion over internal fixation. She needs urgent surgery to correct instability. As she is at risk of permanent Quadriparesis..

Family residing at Sant kabir Nagar Uttar Pradesh. Durgesh Shani Father of child is working as daily wage labour earns Rs 350 on daily basis and Mother is house wife. Mansha’s father is the only earning member for the family. Family has financial constraints cannot afford the treatment.

Child has been ailing since a long time and was shown to various doctors and symptomatically treated but condition did not improve and she was referred to Wadia hospital for further management. Our doctors have advised surgery and costly monitoring which family is unable to afford and total cost of her treatment is an astonishing 80,000

The Coronavirus situation has added onto their distress. Her parents have trouble coordinating with the hospital for treatment of their daughter. Even so, they try their best to support their daughter by whatever means they can.

"If I could do anything to help my daughter I would. She has been the most kind and helpful child anyone could have. She is really a blessing from God. And so I know his grace will shine on her and help her overcome this hurdle. He will send somebody to help us." says Reena, the mother.
