Hello, I'm Kamala Kanta Parhi. I'm asking for your help for my friend, Manoranjan Behera. He's 33 years old and he comes from a small town called Baleswar in Odisha. He's the only person in his family who earns money. His family includes his elderly mom, wife and a six year old daughter.

Manoranjan is very poor and has no other means of financial help. He works as a cook in several homes in Bangalore just to feed his family.

Unfortunately, Manoranjan's heart is not working like it should. He has been suffering from Heart Valve Disease for over a year. Two of the four main heart valves are no longer working, which makes his heart work extra hard and it's getting bigger.

Doctors at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore have proposed major surgery to help him. The proposed open heart surgery will try to repair one valve and replace the other with an artificial valve. Without the surgery, his heart will go into heart failure soon. With the surgery, if everything goes fine, he can be expected to have a normal lifespan.

So far, we've spent about Rs. 2,00,000. This money came from whatever savings we had and loans. But we need to find Rs. 8,00,000 more within the next few weeks for his surgery.
