I graduated from Durgabhai Deskhmukh college of Physiotherapy and completed Masters from Srinivas college of physiotherapy Mangalore , and I have been offered a conditional offer letter from the Bangor University UK, to study MSc applied sports and Exercise Physiology commencing September 2021. The offer from the University is conditional on me taking my IELTS exam, which has been postponed due to the lockdown in Hyderabad.
I had initially hoped to secure either a sponsorship/scholarship or a student loan in order to pursue my MSc. However, both those options have become unviable, as on June 10, 2021, and I feel like I have no other options but to seek assistance through crowdfunding. The total tuition cost for the is GBP 16,500 (approximately INR (21,00,000), and including accommodation costs, it goes above 25,00,000. I have been informed that I have to show INR 23,00,000 in my bank account by next month in order to secure a student visa. At the moment, my savings from working for over a 2 years is only around INR 4,00,000.
If 5,000 individuals are able to donate approximately INR 500/USD each, I will be able to secure enough funds.
My Academic Interests
It has always been my passion to pursue education and research in fields relating Human Physiology.
Why I don’t have any other viable options
1. Personal funds
I’m the only bread winner for the family and has got my sister married recently and I take care of my mother and father who are above 50 years of age. I have no family wealth on which I can rely for funds. My mother had taken few loans for my degree and master which I have been paying and taking care of the household with the money I earn. My family was not able to even fund my undergraduate law degree. I spent the last two years paying off my student loans for my undergraduate law degree. This is why I cannot rely on my family
2. Bank loans
I reached out to several banks for providing student loans for my Master’s programme. I was informed that I would have to provide a security such as gold, lands or own house which right now I don’t own neither my parents so this is not a viable option
I have reached out to several individuals and firms seeking sponsorships for my MSc programme. However, I have been informed by several of them that they are not in a position to set up a sponsorship (due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Therefore, sponsorships are not viable options as well.
My interest in education and learning more about Human physiology and sports and how to make these treatments available for everyone have always been more important to me than anything else. This opportunity would allow me to experience studying and interacting with a diverse group of people, and learn more about myself and where I want to see myself in the world.
Your donations would be extremely helpful to me in reaching this goal. I truly thank you all for your support. Please share with your friends and family who can help.
