Maharogi Sewa Samiti, Warora (MSS) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation in Central India founded on 19th August 1949 by internationally-renowned social workers and human rights activists, Murlidhar Devidas Amte (popularly known as Baba) and his soulmate Sadhana Murlidhar Amte (popularly known as Sadhanatai) along with their peers.

MSS has been relentlessly working towards the betterment of stigmatised and marginalised people such as those afflicted with leprosy, visually challenged, orthopedically challenged, hearing & speech impaired, and socially and economically backwards rural and tribal populace.

MSS spans across 3 prominent project locations, namely Anandwan, Somnath Prakalp located in Chandrapur and Lok Biradari Prakalp, Hemalkasa in Gadchiroli, the most backward districts of Maharashtra State. We advocate a location-specific and decentralised developmental approach, which grows organically from the soil and involves the people at every stage of conception, planning and execution. Over 2000 differently-abled people reside and work with dignity to earn their livelihoods through creative programs.

MSS, Warora has always believed in equal opportunity for all. MSS, Warora has special schools for children with physical disabilities.

Anand Blind school

A residential school which accepts students from various districts, Anand Blind School is an institution like no other. Overall well being is ensured and attention is given to diet, health, activities as well as education. The students trained in various activities like music, sports, dance etc and art taught using the latest technology by highly skilled and trained teachers.

Anand Deaf and mute school

A residential school which provides education upto 10th std, Anand Deaf school provides top class education using the latest technology. Overall attention is given to health and well-being. The school continuously evolves and attempts to adopt new technology & aids being developed for deaf & mute children. Apart from government teachers, MSS, Warora also appoints teachers & language translators to train students in art, craft, sports, etc. The option of vocational training at Sandhiniketan is also made available to these students. The aim is to make our students self-reliant.

We are raising funds towards the special education programs run at Anandwan. All the donations to MSS, are exempted under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961 wherein donor gets deduction at “50%”. The deduction is restricted to 10% of Gross Total Income.
