Luna is a 1.5 year old Indie dog and was a happy stray who lived near our apartment with her mother. She'd wag her tail with so much vigour if you did as little as smile at her.
On the morning of 14th November 2022, as she lay asleep on the road to her cul de sac, she was run over by a vehicle that misjudged the time it would take for her to move out of its path. This led to a injury which rendered her immobile from the waist down. She was rushed to the nearest hospital (Bangalore Pet Hospital) where x-rays showed that there was some compression between her lower vertebrae, which had led to a partial paralysis. An MRI scan further confirmed a fracture, which will need surgical intervention.
Our residential area is very small and only a handful of people care for the dogs in the neighbourhood. We will not be able to afford the amount for the treatment and diagnostic scans (30k), surgery and post op (75k) and we are also looking to raise funds to re-home her to a shelter that can care for her, at least till she has recovered completely.
Spine surgeries are really expensive and we will be unable to raise the amount by ourselves. She is a fighter. she is showing signs of improvement with the treatment, but urgently needs a surgery to relieve her of the pain she is in and for her to regain mobility.

Help Luna walk and wag her tail again. She deserves a better life.
