As a closetted Transwoman, college has been a source of distress as well as joy for me. I am the first in my family to attend college and I intend to be the first to graduate as well. My mother is a single parent and has been a source of strength and inspiration for me despite not knowing about my Transness. She has done her best to not only provide for me financially but emotionally and mentally as well. Though there are many hardships that have come my way, my aspirations to live an authentic life and provide for my mother is my sole motivation to go through college. I am studying engineering under the Computer Science concentration which means that I am in dire need of a laptop to excel in my studies and keep up with course work when I'm at home. So in this time of need I turn to my community and ask you folx to help me with what you can, and help me get through college and make a life for myself in this world. And hopefully one day I will be able to pay it forward. Thank you
