Hello everyone! First we would like to thank everyone who helped us in the first stage of our school building project which began in June of 2022. We now have our two buildings, and two of the three retaining walls completed. We were also gifted the completion of a computer room by the EKAM Foundation. For all of this, we are so very grateful.
Now, we would like to see the completion of the classrooms. One class still requires a brick wall, and once that is done then we need to finish the interior of the classrooms with siding, ceilings and floor tiles, windows and door frames, and wiring. Ten classrooms are waiting to be completed. Each class will cost roughly 100,000 Rs ($1,200.00 US) to complete. So we need to raise 10,00,000 Rs ($12,000.00 US) to complete all ten classrooms.
The Garhwal English Medium School is supported by our registered Non Government Organization, Garhwal Organization for the Upliftment of the Needy (GOUN). Our school has been running since 2009, and offers charitable English Medium education to over 100 children from the villages of Jounpur.
Our new schoolcurrently has 10 classrooms, a makeshift office and a finished computer room, complete with seven desktop computers.
