                                                              AN APPEAL

I take this opportunity to introduce my family and myself to you. My father used to work for the Mumbai Port Trust and has retired after serving them for more than 35 years.

My mother is a housewife who has brought up my two brothers, my two sisters and myself. My one  sister is not married as she has not keeping good health since a young age, my one brother is married and has a child. He does not lives with us does not contribute to this houses expense. I have one sister who is married and lives with her husband. I have one elder brother who is a employed as a marketing executive and is also married with a 03 month son. He is drawing a salary of Rs 30,000 per month after paying TDS and my father gets a pension of Rs 14,000 per month.I THE UNDERSIGNED am a post graduate but unable to start my career as i have to be at home to look after my mother.

Imagine our plight that the income of our house is approximately Rs 44,000 but our expenses only for our mother is Rs 1,50,000/-.

I have written this appeal as my mother was hospitalized on 01/11/2018 and was admitted to  MBPT hospital as we are covered under the CGHS Scheme, My mother walked into the hospital being an epilepsy case, which I feel was mishandled and they could not diagnosed the real problem. My mother was then shifted to Wockhardt Hospital Mumbai central, Since her health had detoriated in the MBPT Hospital, my mother was in the ICU of workhardt hospital for more than a 3 months. Her health further detoriated here and finally we had to shift back to the MBPT Hospital due to the insurance restrictions.

Her health further detoriated in MBPT hospital and we again shifted her to wockhardt hospital as they were aware of the full case. Since there was no change in my mothers health for more than one month, the MBPT Medical officer made us discharge my mother from wockhardt hospital. In the mean time one doctor advised us to try a few sessions  HBOT ( Hyperbaric oxygen therapy ) which was available in the S.L.Raheja hospital in Mahim, We requested the MBPT Medical officer to approve the same and my mother was admitted to Raheja hospital for 14 sessions. Since S.L.Raheja does not participate in the CGHS Scheme my family had to spent more than 1,50,000/- from our personal account. There was a slight improvement by doing the HBOT. We discharged our mother from there after the 14th session and took her home as we had no other alternative.

We have now kept our mother in an isolated ac room at home and we have 2 nurses coming daily for a 12 hour shift. Our total expenses per month is approximately one lakh fifty thousand. This amount includes salaries for the two nurses, medicine bills, a/c hire charges, hospital bed rent charges and other charges like diapers, suction tube, sterile gloves, hand sanitizer, stoma bags, coloplast paste, gauze piece, face mask, head mask, sterile water, apron, bath towels, track vent, ryles tubes etc.

We have borne the above expenses for the last 5 months and we are now running out of resources.

Hence I have sent this appeal to you if you could support my cause by giving me a donation from your side to enable me to bear the expenses and help my mother to come out of the situation she is in presently.

Kindly find the discharge summary of all the hospitals which are attached with this appeal

Thanking you,

Yours truly,
