Story

About Us
Citizens for Animal Protection Foundation is a registered animal welfare organization(MAH/319/2020) based in Thane, Maharashtra, India. We work towards various aspects of animal welfare like rescue and rehabilitation, adoption, legal and advocacy, cruelty, awareness and building an animal shelter. Freedom Farm is an animal shelter currently being built by us located on the outskirts of Thane City near Waghbil Gaon. The shelter is a critical care and educational centre.

The Covid pandemic times and recent climatic changes over the past two years has seen a surge in the number of animals not just the small ones but large animals as well, that require help. We are the first NGO in Thane district who have taken the initiative to work for the welfare of large animals and we believe it is the right time for us to step up.

About the Project
‘BIG BUDDY PROJECT’, is a campaign dedicated towards the welfare of large animals with a simple motto of “Solving issues, of bade pashus”. This project is aimed at providing a better care of large animals such as cows, donkeys, horses, pigs, goats, etc. To work towards this, we are working towards building a structure for the large animals at our shelter. These will the first shelter that will be working towards the care of large animals in Thane District. This will be the first ever campaign in Thane district for the welfare of large animals.

We will require a minimum of 10 lakhs for building the structure and the bifurcation for large animals. The other 5 lakhs would be used for structure maintenance, food and medication for the animals.-

Let’s come together to create a better place for the large animals!
