Dear Friends
Life teaches us some very hard lessons. Doctors see the circle of life, illness, and death every day and sometimes become a little insensitive and immune to these until it hits their close family or themselves. There is also a sense of injustice when illness deals a hard hand and they can no longer afford the treatment they desperately need.
Dr Lal Anthony works as a community physician in the Kerala Government Health Service. He is married to Dr.Sreeja who also works for the Government Health Service. They have a beautiful daughter aged 5 after years of infertility treatment. Dr.Lal was diagnosed with cryptogenic nonalcoholic end-stage liver disease and now needs an urgent liver transplant to survive. He is currently awaiting a suitable donor and is under the care of the specialists at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Kochi, Kerala.
His surgery alone is estimated to cost 21 lakhs [$30,000 /£25,000 approx). This is likely to double as his wife is no longer a suitable donor and he has already needed several admissions to intensive care for various complications.
We appeal to all the kind people of this world to support his fight against this illness and contribute generously to his cause. No matter what the amount, EVERY DONATION HELPS.
