I am raising funds for Lakshmi, a 32-year-old woman, and a single parent to a young daughter, who has been an integral part of our household as a domestic helper. She suffered severe burns to her face and neck in a devastating kitchen fire accident (at her own house), leaving her in critical condition and requiring immediate, intensive medical care. Lakshmi is a hardworking and dedicated individual, and it is heartbreaking to see her going through such a painful ordeal.
Lakshmi is currently admitted to St. John's Hospital in Bangalore, Karnataka, where she is receiving treatment in the ICU. The severity of her burns requires specialized care, including wound management, skin grafting procedures, and prolonged hospitalization. The total estimated cost of her treatment amounts to ₹7,00,000 - ₹10,00,000 , which is an overwhelming sum for her family to arrange on their own.
As someone who has seen her work sincerely and cheerfully, I feel a deep responsibility to ensure she receives the best possible care without financial barriers coming in the way.
She is a single parent to a young 18 year old girl, who is completely overwhelmed. Born to a poor family, Lakshmi started working at the age of 13, and is doing her best to educate her daughter.

The current estimates given by St Johns amount to Rs 50,000 per day in surgical ICU with a minimum of 14 days in ICU. This doesnot include daily costs of medicines and procedures which are adding up to Rs 30,000 a day. Surgery costs are also not included. Beyond this, she has to spent another 30 days in hospital. Her ICU costs alone are Rs 7,00,000 and another Rs. 3-5 lakhs would be needed for surgery and medicines.
Lakshmi's relatives wanted to take her home from the ICU. Not because she was better, but because the hospital bills terrified them.
