CHALLENGE
The city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat has reached a critical phase during Covid-19. The virus has started spreading among the already vulnerable in the rural areas. The condition of daily wage workers, sanitation workers, and migrant workers has been traumatic due to a sudden loss of income. This has greatly affected their survival. Ration cards have come to the rescue of very few, leaving the rest hungry and weak. These communities have a hand-to-mouth existence and cannot save money for their future planning. In each family, there are at least 4-5 people living together and now, after around 2 months of lockdown, they have nothing left to spend on their daily needs.

Ration cards have come to the rescue of very few, leaving the rest hungry and weak. These communities have a hand-to-mouth existence and cannot save money for their future planning. In each family, there are at least 4-5 people living together and now, after around 2 months of lockdown, they have nothing left to spend on their daily needs.
This situation will be more horrible if the lockdown keeps extending and they do not get back to their jobs soon. Even after the lockdown has been lifted, how many of them will actually get their jobs back! This makes at least the next 2 months even more critical for their survival.
We have chosen a few of the most vulnerable areas in the city to serve cooked meals and distribute relief kits. Most of the people are solely dependent on the food supplies we provide. So far, we have been able to provide a one-time meal to 1100-1200 people daily. That amounts to serving at least 400 families. However, this is not enough since approximately 4800 people (1600 families) live in these areas. No one should have to sleep hungry. That’s why, we are in desperate need of funds to support the rest of the people.
CURRENT STATS
As on 17 May 2020, the Laddoo team has successfully served 39,550+ meals, covering 13,150+ families. We prepare freshly cooked nutritious meals for everyday consumption with the help of kind volunteers and Laddoo team members. We maintain hygiene and quality standards while also strictly abiding by social distancing regulations.
PLAN AHEAD
For the remaining 1600 families, we want to provide Relief Kits for one month that will include groceries and essential supplies. One kit will cost Rs. 1500 to include the below-mentioned items.

Three-phased Utilization of Funds:
Phase 1:
With Rs. 6,80,000 we will distribute one-week worth Relief Kits so that the affected families can immediately ease their lives.
Phase 2:
With Rs. 20,00,000 we will distribute Relief Kits for the next 15 days supplies.
Phase 3:
With Rs. 27,20,000 we will complete the remaining 1-week Relief Kit distribution.

Unfortunately, if we are not able to meet the target during this campaign period, we will distribute as many relief kits/food meals as the raised funds allow us.
About Us
Laddoo Foundation is an Ahmedabad based youth organization working on several causes including relief work during a crisis. The non-profit organization has been known for its work on improving the lives of underprivileged children. Since 2014, the foundation has been primarily working on skill-development initiatives and vocational training to create a secure future for the kids. Alongside, Laddoo supports vulnerable women and marginalized communities with its initiatives.

Laddoo Foundation is steadfast about maintaining transparency of its relief operations. We will be publishing our expense and donation details at the end of the relief drive. Our donors are free to seek any details of expenditure during COVID relief work by Laddoo Foundation.
