I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected to represent Team India in Open division of the AOUGC'2023. This fundraiser will help me participate with team India in Open division of the WFDF 2023 Asia Oceanic Ultimate and Guts Championships(AOUGC).
WFDF 2023 Asia Oceanic Ultimate & Guts Championships(AOUGC) will take place at the Ayala Alabang Country Club in Manila, the Philippines from the 6th-10th, September 2023.
However, This is a self-funded campaign and it requires that each athlete has to cover their own expenses. As you can imagine, participating in such championship event is expensive. There are travel costs, accommodation costs, and equipment costs that all add up quickly. That's why I am reaching out to all of you asking for your financial support to participate in AOUGC'23 championship.
A bit about myself and my ultimate journey:
Hello! Myself Kush Kothari. I'm a 23-year-old living in Bengaluru, Karnataka, originally from Nathdwara, Rajasthan. At Jain University, I was first introduced to ultimate in 2016. My first as well as college team's first official outstation tournament was Gheun Tak'2017, where we placed second in the bronze pool. Since then, I have competed in over 18+ tournaments with both my club team (learning to fly) and my college squad (Doesn't matter ultimate). As a young player in a collegiate team, my squad's significant accomplishments were finishing second at the inaugural NCUC'18, Sonepat and winning the first SOTG trophy at Chennai Heat'17. I also had the opportunity to serve as captain of Karnataka's U22 team during my ultimate journey.
In the UPAI national championship series (2022-23), my club team "Learning to fly" placed in the top eight in more than twenty-four club team of the country in which I competed. This was my third attempt at national selection, and I succeeded in getting a position in Team India Open division competing at AOUGC'23. In the past, I have also been shortlisted for final tryout for team India participating at WFDF WU24(2018), and AOUGC(2019).
I am launching a crowdfunding campaign to help cover the costs of my participation in AOUGC'23. Having financial commitments towards family and clearing up the loan installments are the challenges. Currently arranging this significant amount seems difficult for me such that with the help of my friends and family connections trying to raise funds. Most of the international tournament costs around 3Lakhs but this one tournament costs only 1.25L approx. Tournament cost covers the following: International Flight Tickets, Visa Fees, Tournament Local Transport, Tournament Food and Accommodation, Player Kit (jerseys and shorts), Team Registration Fee, Player Registration Fee, Travel Insurance, Coach's expenses. *Training camp costs are not included in tournament cost.
Your donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in helping me achieve my dream of representing Team India at AOUGC. I am determined to make the most of this opportunity. With your help, I can focus on playing my best and making my country proud.
Thank you for considering supporting my campaign. Your generosity means the world to me.
