Kumari Nikita is diagnosed with Thalassemia Major. She needs 3 weekly blood transfusion failing which she will develop life threatening complications. She also has iron depositions in her vital organs secondary to Thalassemia Major. This too can cause various complications leading to hormonal disurbance, heart failure and liver failure. The only curative option currently is Bone Marrow Trasplantation(BMT) which has to be on urgent basis. She does not have comlete HLA matched Unrelated Donor Bone Marrow Transplant. Unfortunately matched unrelated donors who were available are new refusing to donate. In view of her clinical condition we are planning to take her for Haplo Identical Donor Bone Marrow Trasplant usingg her mother as donor using TCR alpha/Beta and CD 45RA depletion therapy as only option to save this child.
