Dear Friends,
I have had the fortune of teaching Kritika during the Teach For India Fellowship days, almost a decade back. Since then, I've mentored Kritika over the years and have witnessed her transformative shift as an individual.
Kritika completed her 12th Grade from a Delhi Govt. school early this year and recently received an admit for an undergraduate program in Business Administration, from the prestigious Ambedkar University in Delhi.
Kritika will be the first girl in her family to receive an opportunity to study in college! When I think of Kritika, I'm reminded of the millions of girls in our country who aspire to make it big and do whatever it takes to push the envelope. She is truly committed, courageous and extremely ambitious to do well in her life and that is what makes her special.
However, Kritika's family make less than 15000 INR a month, which barely meets their monthly requirements, leave alone the cost of Kritika's education. While Kritika has received a merit seat in a Govt. run institution, the cost of her program comes to roughly 91k per year (excluding other academic expenses). I truly believe that a college education will not only help her achieve her dreams, but will also enable her family to come out of the cycle of poverty.
We are raising funds to cover the entire cost of her three years of college education. Your small contribution will go a long way in making a dent in Kritika's career.
