Sponsorship for Jagriti Yatra 2019

Who am I?

My name is Krishna Koundinya(KK) and I am currently working as an Intern in Singareni Collieries Company Limited,Kothagudem. In terms of my previous work experience, I have worked with Wipro for an year. After which, I mustered the courage to leave the corporate life and start a career in social activities.
I am an organizer, volunteer promoter of an organization named Life for Children. The primary objective of this organization is to ensure the under-privileged children have access to primary education, as well as empowering women to achieve their dreams and break through the stereotypes. Ever since, I have seen witnessed a steep upward learning curve, resulting to a tremendous growth.
Choosing an unconventional path and working towards a social cause from an early stage is always challenging. Nevertheless, this has been my foremost motivation. It is the satisfaction that I get and the energy that I derive working alongside like-minded people that keeps me going.

Jagriti yatra Introduction.

Jagriti Yatra is a 15-day long, national train journey across 12 destinations with 500 other “Yatris” (travelers) that will take me 8,000 kilometers across the length and breadth of India. The aim of this journey is to understand and build the smaller towns and villages of India through enterprise. I look forward to meeting role models, change-makers, leaders that are treading on a similar journey to mine , making a difference to thousands of lives.
I will forge bonds with like-minded young leaders, my co-Yatris. They will become my closest friends and comrades for life. I will be exposed to role models who are building India through enterprise; through them I will find inspiration to undertake building my own journey through entrepreneurship.

Yatri selection Process

Motivation to go on the Yatra:

Since I came to know about the Yatra two years back, I’ve been thinking of applying but never had the courage to take the financial risk. I love traveling, meeting new people and learning from new experiences. I've come to understand the power of human potential and it has become a source of inspiration that drives me every single day. The Yatra is also my way of understanding our country and its people.
The changemaker at heart that I am, it fascinates me to know how people around the country are doing incredible things and having substantial impact in the lives of others. I feel it will enable me to learn so much from each of them.

Why should you give me your hard-earned money?

I got selected for a life-changing journey called Jagriti Yatra from among 40,000+ applicants. It is the longest train journey in the world - first conceived in 2008 as Azaad Bharat Rail Yatra to build capacities and bring opportunities to some of the most beautiful but underfunded places in the world: Middle India.
I will travel almost 8,000 km in those 15 days, exploring the length and breadth of what this beautiful country has to offer, along with 450 other participants handpicked from all over the world. The idea of spending 15 days closeted in a train, will allow an almost unheard-of networking opportunity with like-minded people, to learn from their mistakes, to inspire and be inspired, to understand what’s happening around the world beyond my small world.

The Route
The train stops at 12 locations to personally meet exceptional change-makers who are transforming India. Aravind Eye Care (Madurai), Anshu Gupta (Goonj, Delhi), Bunker Roy (Barefoot College, Tiloniya), Joe Madiath (Gram Vikas, Odisha), Narayan Murthy (Infosys, Bangalore), Harish Hande (SELCO, Hubli) and R.Elango (Kuthambakkam Model Village, Chennai) are a few among others. Nation-builders such as Sam Pitroda, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Meera Sanyal, and Dr. R. A. Mashelkar have participated in the program previously.
