I am Krati Sharma, 22 years old Thalassemia Major patient, who resides in Beawar. I need to transfuse blood every 15 days for which I used to visit in Govt hospital, Ajmer where the machine is available. Due to covid, I started visiting Amrit Kaur Hospital, Beawar where we do not get packed cell blood due to the unavailability of a refrigerator centrifugal machine. During the course of time, I have started facing few health issues due to the absence of packed cell blood as impacts functioning of organs. Upon inquiring hospital management, we were informed that the main part of the machine is not available due to which they cannot use the already existing part of the machine.
According to Hospital Management, the cost of the machine is 20,00,000. However, machine with low capacity worth Rs. 6,00,000 can also be starting point as stated in attached letter by PMO, Beawar. We have raised grievance multiple times on central and state grievance portals but there was no response and proper action. Therefore we are using help of crowdfunding so that machine can be procured in Amrit Kaur Hospital, Beawar. The machine can not only help me in fight against Thalassemia, it will help more than hundred of other Thalassemia patients who are facing this challenge.
