My running journey started in Kaikondrahalli lake in 2014, it has been one of my training grounds for many 10k and 21ks in the last few years. I am now training to run my 1st marathon in Mumbai's SCMM in January 2017 and would like to dedicate my run to KAIKONDRAHALLI LAKE.
It is one of the few lung spaces in the otherwise congested Sarjapur area and it attracts many walkers, runners, senior citizens, photographers everyday. In the recent months it has been a challenge to maintain the lake due to reduced resources. Your contributions will go a long way in saving this lake.
The lake was rejuvenated by the BBMP with active involvement from the local citizens and is now almost completely community-funded and managed by MAPSAS Trust. MAPSAS, an acronym for “Mahadevapura Parisara Samrakshane Mattu Abhivrudhi Samiti”, is a not for profit registered Trust that was formed in 2011 to revive and rejuvenate lakes in the Bellandur ORR/Sarjapur Road/Harlur Road area.
The funds collected through this campaign will be used for the upkeep and maintenance of the lake for every month as well as organise KERE HABBA 2017, a novel lake festival conducted on January of every year.
Support my initiative and support my run to save the KKH lake for the current and future generations.
