“Karnataka Swabhimana Habba 2025”, Organized by CSGMR (Coalition for Sex Workers’, Sexual and Gender Minorities' Rights)
“The truth is, no one of us can be free until everybody is free.” – Maya Angelou
On 15th April 2014, the NALSA verdict was a landmark ruling which recognised transgender people as the third gender in India and affirmed their rights. A decade later, progress is slow, with persisting discrimination. Horizontal reservation remains unimplemented despite NALSA's provisions.
The question remains: Is our society ready to fully embrace us? Are we ready to fully embrace our society? CSGMR is a space that welcomes members of all human rights movements, with the intention of creating solidarities amongst marginalised communities. Uniting us is the understanding that our various movements do not stand alone - by holding space for each other, we combine and strengthen our efforts against oppression.
This is where YOU come in.
On “June 22nd, 2025,” we are coming together for Karnataka Swabhimana Habba 2025, a pride march and a series of events to build a more accepting and inclusive society for LGBTQIA+ people.
CSGMR (Coalition for Sex Workers’, Sexual and Gender Minorities' Rights) goal is to create a world where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, where differences in gender, identity, class, caste, age, race, abilities, profession, and sexuality are celebrated.
But we can’t do it alone—we need YOU!
How you can support:
All donations will be used transparently for the cause. We will publish our financial reports annually
Stand with us. March with us. Make history with us.
Thank you for being a part of this journey!
