Amphan's scale and devastation in the Sunderbans is unprecedented. The national and local media have not even scratched the surface of what was the biggest disaster the region has faced in the last century. We are raising funds to help the local population.

Everything in the storm's path has been flattened or uprooted and that includes houses, agricultural establishments, crops, and trees on which the local population depended heavily. Small fisheries have been destroyed irreperably. Areas such as Sandeshkhali 1 , Sandeshkhali 2, Haroa, Hingalgunje, Hasnabad, Basirhat 1, Basirhat 2, and Minakha have been razed to the ground causing an almost permanent displacement of the thousands that lived in the area and are now temporarily sheltered at rescue centers nearby. Their future is uncertain.

Manav Vikash Ashram is an NGO, a registered trust Deed No. IV.00664 of 2013, Govt of West Bengal. office of DSR 1,North 24 parganas, mainly engaged in welfare of the West Bengal farmers through training sessions and skill development programs, they also run a small house of orphans at Madharat, Baruipur. 

Debetra Ecom Pvt Ltd is a company registered MSME bearing the CIN U74999WB2017PTC221538 and PAN AAGCD2236E mainly engaged into the business of Travel & Tourism and E-commerce who are presently working as the promoters of the agricultural produces  by the several Farmers clubs across Bengal have associated as a part of their responsibility towards the welfare of the farmers with Manav Viaksh Ashram for this initiative of raising funds for cyclone relief.

Our initiative is aimed at helping these families with basics like rice and daal while also providing masks that ensure their safety. Note that the rescue centers have been overwhelmingly crowded in this period and the COVID-19 risk is high in these areas.

The time is running out on these families and by the time our media and political parties acknowledge the scale of this, it might just be too late for most of them.
