I am reaching out to you with a humble request to save my brother venkat a dinesh Kumar kanchi, he is just 23 yrs old,I lost my mother and grandmother recently due to covid,and I cannot have the thought of loosing my brother too,Dinesh was diagnosed with covid positive on May 17th and battling for his life since then.
Due to his deteriorating condition and increasing oxygen requirement, he was shifted to the ICU on June 1st, and he continues to be in ICU,his oxygen saturation started dropping(SpO2) and d- dimer values were increasing rapidly so doctors insisted that only ECMO(Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) and lung transplantation could save his life.
His HRCT Scan score was 25/25, suggestive of severe viral pneumonia, which subsequently required him to be on 100% FiO2 Oxygen. Despite the best of efforts, he is putting up a strong fight but his Lungs were damaged to a point of no recovery.
Doctors have advised undergoing the very expensive Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) treatment, followed by a Lung Transplant procedure as our last hope.
Approximate Treatment Costs:
ECMO Initial Setup Cost: INR 10,00,000
ECMO Daily Usage Cost: INR 2,00,000 (Daily cost to be borne until Lung transplant, a minimum of 2 weeks)
Hospital Daily Cost: INR 1,00,000
Lung Transplant: INR 1.5 crore
The hospital expenses have already exhausted our family finances and resources. Beyond what is already spent, the further treatment cost is expected to be a minimum of 2 Crore (INR 2,00,00,000 / USD 280,000
The cost of the treatment is very high and we are no longer able to meet it personally. I humbly and earnestly request you to help my brother dinesh get the timely treatment he needs and a new lease of life.
